Exploring the best options to deploy your website

When I started my jewelry business, I chose Wix for my website. At that moment, it felt easy and affordable, and I just wanted something simple to get online.
Now, after some time working with it, I’ve realized that the platform you choose really matters, especially if you want to grow.

If you’re starting a small handmade business like mine, here’s my honest experience comparing the basic plans of Wix and Shopify.
Wix is very beginner-friendly. It’s easy to design your website with drag-and-drop tools, it has beautiful templates, and works fine if you just want a simple online store. For someone who is just starting and wants something quick and visual, Wix can feel like a good option.
I am really tired of working on several catalogues, and even though Wix offers integrations, I personally found them harder to set up and not as smooth as I expected. I wasn’t able to connect things the way I wanted, especially for product visibility and advertising.
I have read that Shopify is built specifically for eCommerce and with the Basic Shopify plan, you can get a very strong integration with Google Shopping and easy connection to Facebook and Instagram Shops
Shopify Basic is a bit more expensive monthly, but more focused on sales tools and integrations. For me, the extra cost feels more like an investment if it helps me grow and automate things.
I honestly regret not researching more before choosing Wix. But every step is part of the learning process. Building a business is not just about creating beautiful products, it’s also about choosing the right tools to support your growth. And sometimes, changing platforms is just part of evolving.
