Being and Feeling Indispensable

Today in a meeting at work, one of my colleagues announced that he will be out of the office for a couple of weeks. His position is critical, he supports key parts of our operations and is the main person responsible for the platform that serves thousands of our customers.
The first thing that came to my mind was how difficult it can be to truly allow yourself to take a break when you feel such a strong sense of responsibility. He even made a few comments about being available if needed. And immediately I thought: no one is really indispensable.
It is so important to take time for yourself, to rest, to disconnect from stress, to share time with family and friends, and to simply breathe.
Since I started making jewelry, I have become more committed to taking care of my own needs. I’ve noticed that I feel less stressed, I smile more, and I enjoy my life more fully.
Sometimes stepping away is not weakness, it’s wisdom.
