Let’s Go to the Beach

For me, as a Venezuelan from Caracas, saying “let’s go to the beach” is always a reason to celebrate. Caracas is only about 45 minutes from the sea, so there doesn’t need to be a special occasion to enjoy the warm waters of the Caribbean, available 365 days a year.
For my husband, the sea is in his very essence. He grew up surrounded by coastal cities and maritime activities, so it’s no surprise that when we think about vacations, we both picture a beautiful beach, with plenty of sand to walk on, warm water, gentle waves (at least for me), and lots of opportunities to enjoy the sea, especially snorkeling.
The ocean gives me a sense of calm that’s hard to describe. I don’t feel stressed, I feel light, and even breathe better. It’s as if my body and soul sync with the rhythm of the waves.
My husband and I have been lucky enough to explore several destinations where we could observe marine life while snorkeling: Belize, Aruba, Puerto Rico, the Cayman Islands… and now we’ve come to discover St. John and St. Thomas.
For my part, I also cherish unique experiences in Saint Marteen and, of course, Los Roques in Venezuela, which still the most unforgettable paradise in my memory.
Today we are in St. John. We arrived last night and are looking forward to an amazing week. Of course, I plan to take lots of photos and visit several beaches, I never lose hope of finding a genuine piece of sea glass for my creations.
