Today is a travel day, as I’m heading to Florida for a work event. It’s always nice to step away from the daily routine, but when you think about waking up early, and the uncertainties and little challenges that come with traveling, it doesn’t always feel so nice.
One of the things I enjoy most about traveling is observing people from different origins and cultures, and the diversity that naturally appears. Among women especially, you notice completely different hairstyles and ways of dressing. In general, though, most have adopted a casual, sporty look, except for those traveling to meetings or offices where a dress code is required.
When it comes to jewelry, you mostly see small or stud earrings, probably because they’re the most comfortable. Necklaces tend to be delicate, with thin chains in gold or silver. Rings are usually minimal as well, often a wedding band or a diamond ring. Bracelets frequently feature charms, some of them quite full. I suppose it’s both fashion and a subtle symbol of status, as more charms often mean more value on a single bracelet.
This diversity amazes me, how we are all the same, yet so different. A variety of styles quietly defining our own personalities. What a way to go.
