From a Technological Person to an Artisan

As the end of the year approaches, I find myself pausing, almost instinctively, to reflect on everything these past twelve months have brought into my life. A full year has gone by, and yet it feels as if it slipped through my fingers. Time seems to move faster the older we get, and I know it’s not just me thinking this; friends my age say the same thing. Days blend into weeks, weeks into months, and suddenly we are standing at the edge of a brand-new year.

This year, more than anything else, has been a year of transformation.

I discovered something unexpected about myself: the ability to enjoy learning and creating something completely new. What started as curiosity slowly became a refuge. Working with wire, beads, and sea glass has helped me cope with anxiety in ways I never imagined. There is something deeply calming about creating with your hands, about focusing on each small detail, each bend of wire, each unique piece of glass. At the same time, there is joy in knowing that something I create might resonate with someone else, might make them smile, feel connected, or feel inspired.

Looking back, the contrast is striking. I used to spend my free time reading or writing articles related to technology, immersing myself in screens, updates, and digital trends. Now, I find myself watching videos on intricate jewelry techniques, learning how to shape wire, combine textures, and bring delicate designs to life. It is a big change, one I never planned, but one I deeply appreciate.

As this year comes to a close, I’m grateful for this shift. It reminded me that it’s never too late to evolve, to explore new paths, and to rediscover ourselves in unexpected ways. I step into the new year with curiosity, creativity, and the quiet confidence that transformation, however surprising, can be a beautiful thing.
