During this year, I believed that if a piece of jewelry was beautiful, that was enough. I focused on design, materials, and inspiration, the ocean, nature, little details that make each piece special. But one small moment changed the way I think about jewelry forever.
I gifted a necklace I had made with so much love to a dear friend. It suited her perfectly, and I was excited to see her wear it. Later, she gently confessed something that made my heart sink: she couldn’t open the clasp on her own.
She loved the necklace… but she couldn’t wear it unless someone helped her. I remember feeling terrible. Not because the necklace wasn’t beautiful, but because it wasn’t usable for her. And that’s when it hit me: jewelry isn’t just about how it looks. It’s about how it fits into someone’s life.
That experience stayed with me. I started noticing how many people struggle quietly with jewelry: sensitive ears, clasps that are too small or stiff, bracelets that are just a little too tight, necklaces that never sit quite right or rings that don’t fit the way they should.
Most people don’t complain, they simply stop wearing the piece, and as a maker, that’s the last thing I want.
I want the jewelry I create to be: comfortable, easy to wear, inclusive and made for real hands, real skin, and real bodies.
That’s why starting in 2026, I will come with strategy of offering thoughtful options like hypoallergenic ear wires, clip-on or pin earrings, magnetic clasps, different chain and bracelet lengths, and ring sizes. These choices allow each piece to work for you, not against you.
That necklace I gave my friend taught me something invaluable. Jewelry should never make someone feel frustrated, dependent, or uncomfortable. It should make them feel confident, beautiful, and at ease.
Customization is my way of honoring that lesson. Because the most meaningful jewelry isn’t just seen, it’s lived in.
