Bijoux de la Mer – Handcrafted Coastal Jewelry

I’ve always loved the word bijoux, the French word for jewelry. There’s something about it that feels instantly elegant, and timeless. When I first started creating jewelry, I knew I wanted to use it… but I hesitated. I wondered if it might feel too foreign, too unfamiliar to some. And in a way, feeling “foreign” is already part of my own story 😉!
But it kept coming back to me.
Bijoux carries a sense of sophistication, yes, but also history. It makes me think of pieces that have lived through different eras, each one holding a story, a moment, a memory. That feeling is exactly what I want my jewelry to hold.
At first, I explored names like Lumière, Belle Vie, Charm, even Royale. Beautiful words, but something was missing. The most important part of my inspiration wasn’t there: the sea.
Everything changed when I paired that elegance with what truly grounds my work, nature, ocean textures, sea glass, the calm and power of the water.
And that’s how Bijoux de la Mer was born in my brain.
Nine months into this journey, I realize this is about more than creating jewelry. It’s about highlighting a woman’s inner beauty, those quiet, powerful qualities that don’t need to shout to be seen.
Now I find myself at a turning point. As I begin working on a new website and transitioning to a different platform over the next few months, I also feel ready to refine my voice.
A phrase that keeps staying with me is: “Nature-inspired bijoux for everyday magic.”
It feels aligned. It feels honest. It feels like the next step.
This process will take time, about three months of building, moving, and reimagining, but it also feels like the right moment to make small, intentional changes that better reflect who I am and what I create.
Because this isn’t just about jewelry.
It’s about connection, nature, and carrying a little piece of that magic with you, every day.
