The creation process

My creative life began at a quiet workbench, surrounded by tools and fragments of glass that once belonged to the sea. I’ve always believed that before a piece of jewelry exists, there is a moment of silence.

I recently shared a post about one of my most beloved pieces, reflecting on that initial spark of transformation: “There is always a moment when the stone meets a design, and suddenly, the piece is born.”

This is exactly what happened with this, my latest creation. It began with a small piece of cobalt blue sea glass, naturally shaped like a heart. As I held it, ideas began to take shape in my mind. While searching for the perfect setting, I found a beautiful gold bezel that looked like delicate veins extending from the heart. Suddenly, another large, flat heart-shaped piece was noticed on my table. In that "boom" moment, I knew: This belongs underneath the gold.

When I laid the pieces together, the combination was perfect. The piece had so much character and charm that I briefly thought, “I’m keeping this one for myself.”

I set to work adding the finishing touches: bail and the chain. When it was finally ready, the piece seemed to speak to me, whispering, “I am beautiful.” Before heading to market, I brought it to my husband for the final "test," as I deeply value his perspective. He looked at it and said, “It’s a heart with the veins showing... it’s a bit unusual, but it looks nice! 😊”

With his approval granted, the piece was ready. Every jewel I make has its own story; some are conventional, while others are as deeply thoughtful, as this one. In the end, they are all beautiful.

I truly love what I do, and I’m so happy to share this journey with you.
