It is not always sunshine at the beach

What an enjoyable, breezy morning at the beach, perfect spring weather, even without sunshine. Still, people gather by the ocean to breathe it in and listen to the rhythm of the surf.
We walked along the shoreline for about 45 minutes, picking up small shells as we went. We got lucky, we found a sand dollar and a tiny piece that looks like sea glass, my first one in Port Aransas.
For a girl like me, who grew up living just 30 minutes from the Caribbean Sea, the ocean holds a very special place in my life. And here I am, on a different beach thousands of miles away from my native home, yet enjoying a horizon that feels like it melts into the sky in the same familiar way.
After this trip, I know I’ll find a way to incorporate my new sand dollar and shells into my jewelry, as a memory of this beautiful moment.
